The Harmony remote is one of the best things to ever happen to home theaters. I often joke that it saved my marriage by simplifying our entertainment center so my wife didn’t want to throw our five remotes in the garbage. With a few simple clicks during setup, you can create actions that power on all the devices required for a particular action. Throw in the Harmony Hub, and you have the ability to control your home theater from your phone or by voice with Alexa.
The biggest downside of Harmony remotes and hubs is that they tend to be very expensive. Currently, Amazon is blowing out this refurbished Harmony Companion Remote with the Harmony Hub for $49! That’s $20 less than you’d pay for the hub alone.
I know what you’re thinking, “It’s a refurb! I don’t want someone else’s broken junk!” Well I’m here to tell you that I’ve owned two different refurbished Harmony remotes for eight years and both are still in service.
I just bought one of these kits myself to be used in my new basement theater build and will be reviewing it as soon as construction is complete!
